Employee benefit administrator to focus on personal health management
JOHNSON
CITY, Tenn. – Corporate Systems Administration Inc., an employee benefits administrator
and management firm, is celebrating its 25th anniversary by focusing
on its personal health management programs for major employers throughout the
Southeast.
Personal health management is a proactive approach that improves
employees’ health and reduces the cost of health care. Through coordinated healthcare intervention
and communication, it emphasizes doctor-patient relationships, plan of care,
disease prevention and management, patient self-management strategies and
feedback. It helps members and their
families understand chronic illness, how it impacts their lives, and what
alternatives are available.
Thomas H. Repass, current CEO, founded CSA in 1980 and
established its headquarters in Johnson City. Since that time, CSA has worked with many
employers throughout the Southeastern United States,
including companies in Nashville, Tenn.,
Dalton, Ga.,
Roanoke, Va.,
Asheville, N.C.,
and the Tri-Cities region in Tennessee
and Virginia.
CSA helps companies offer affordable health care coverage by
providing benefits analysis, medical management, access to quality healthcare
providers and member education.
“The cost of healthcare has risen dramatically over the last
several years,” says CSA President Paul Knapp.
“It’s the driving force behind our decision to emphasize healthier
lifestyles through personal health management.
“Our management programs encourage employees to be proactive
about their own health through better nutrition and exercise. A robust medical education library is
available online at www.csabenefits.com. For example, it is more cost effective to
make lifestyle and dietary changes to prevent diabetes than it is to treat
diabetes after it manifests itself.”
Other CSA services include risk management, predictive
modeling, benefit package design and expert administration. CSA also implements and administers a full
menu of employee benefits such as dental, vision, prescription drug cards,
disability, life insurance plans, disease management and COBRA.
CSA uses state-of-the-art technology to automate claims
processing from benefit plan design to claims payment. CSA offers online services in areas such as
benefit enrollment, claim status, benefit information and medical library.
Highmark Life and Casualty Group has recognized CSA for outstanding
sales achievement for the past 12 years.
The award recognizes companies that achieve new business goals and
retain business.
“It’s rewarding to look back over the past 25 years and see
how far we’ve come,” says Repass. “I’m
excited about CSA’s future. We will remain
focused on providing world class service to our clients.”
